During my junior year of high school, all I had was a dream. How was I going to make that dream a reality? The first step to achieving that dream was going to college. With that said, I realized how unprepared I was. I knew nothing about the college application process.
That’s when my friend introduced me to Ms. Lowe. Not only did she greet me with open arms, but she provided me with a step-by-step guide on what I needed to do in order to be successful in what felt like a very sophisticated process. Throughout all of my stressful nights, days, and panic attacks, she stood by me and comforted me. She supplied me with hope and perseverance all throughout, including the moments I got my acceptances and registered to go to one of the most esteemed colleges in the nation.
Ms. Lowe is an extraordinary human being, seeking nothing more than to make the lives of children like us easier and more informed. My time with her was well spent and I am so appreciative for what she was able to help me accomplish. I wish nothing more than for every student to cross paths with Ms. Lowe.

Ms. Lowe is an outstanding mentor, I met her in my sophomore year of high school unexpectedly. Ever since, she has played a positive role in my high school years.
She held me accountable for my mistakes and encouraged me to put myself in a better position for the future. I can't express how thankful I am for the patience that she had with me with completing assignments and helping me with all of my classes.
Even when I was failing academically, she made sure I stayed on task by motivating me when I wasn't motivated, and she reminded me that it can be accomplished.
Not only did she encourage me academically but as a person. I can finally say that I am now a high school graduate.

Ms. Lowe came to my high school my freshman year and started a program called “ALIVE”. The program was like the building steps that lead to making a college decision. Throughout my 4 years in high school she stayed on top of and ahead of everything (and everyone) to make sure I succeeded. Her guidance included writing essays, helping with school, and helping me with any personal issues I had. Over
As a first-generation college student with no one in my family who could understand the processes for entering college, receiving advising from Ms. Shontia has helped me both enter college and throughout college. Having someone support me through the strenuous application process has helped me traverse from a high schooler to the first college student in my family and soon-to-be graduate!

Ms. Lowe is a Mentor and Academic Advisor to me. In 2018, I heard about a great academic program that was provided to me through my high school, which is how I met her. Ms. Lowe is academically driven, stern, and shows an abundance of integrity with her students. Personally, speaking from my own relationship with Ms. Lowe, she has instilled so much confidence and determination into me as a person,
Ms. Shontia has been such a role model for me. I met her in middle school in a program called TR. I am now a college student and up until this day she still reaches out and ensures that I am still working hard. She always made sure that I was engaged in school and on top of my academics. Not only did she push me academically but she pushed me morally. She allowed me to realize how being a caring,
The help and dedication I have received from Ms. Lowe in the past year has been very important to my life. As a child of an immigrant and as an immigrant myself, understanding the complexities of the college application process in a different country, language, and educational system seemed like an impossible mission for me and my family. Ms. Lowe understood my situation, empathized with me, but m
From essay writing to mock interviews, Ms. Shontia has really helped me gain confidence in my college applications. The advice and counseling that she has given me is something that I will continue to use throughout my future. I am truly thankful for the hard work, effort and care that Ms. Shontia has put towards what was a very complex college application process.

I’ve known Ms. Lowe for about 3 years now. She has made my life so much easier. Without her help I would have been so confused and lost when it came to applying to colleges, financial aid, and scholarships. Without her I wouldn’t even be going to the University I now go to and love. Even though I’m now in college, she still helps me and gives me life advice to make sure I am setting myself up for
College is a big step for most people and it is uncharted territory for a lot. Participating in this program will help you with your writing, your academics, and definitely with access, exposure, and experience building, to make a good decision based on what your professional goals are.

Without the assistance of Ms. Lowe I would have had no clue about how to prepare for college, beginning from the writing of my Resume, to the reviews of all of my college essays. She is truly good at her job and I would recommend her to any parent that is looking for professional help for their high school student or senior. I got personal assistance from Ms. Lowe where she helped me review all
Having an Advisor like Ms. Lowe was one of the best things to happen in my high school years. Unfortunately, I didn’t meet her until my senior year in high school but she has definitely been very beneficial to my experience. If it wasn’t for meeting her, my college applications, essays, and multiple other necessities needed for my future would not have been as thoroughly worked through and address
I have known Ms. Shontia since I was in the 7th grade in DC, in a program called TR. I am now a sophomore in college. Ever since middle school she’s been a great help as it relates to my academics. She’s always been there for me whether it’s my private life, help with school, or just a friend to talk to. She’s pushed me ALOT through school to succeed. Without her support & help I wouldn’t have go
College, career, and life are things most young people especially high school students find difficult to understand, myself included. With me being new to the United States, I had no understanding of how the education system works. Ms. Shontia, who initially was helping hold my younger brother accountable for keeping his grades up, she surprisingly started doing the same for me. Ms. Shontia helped
Education was not as essential as it should have been when I was growing up in Sierra Leone. Nonetheless, when I came to the United States, I had to start over, which was difficult. But, with the support, guidance, and resource that is Ms. Shontia, I was able to graduate high school, enroll in college, and graduate from college. I don't think I would have been able to graduate high school nor coll
I was in a program called ALIVE with Ms. Lowe. She is a very talented person when it comes to youth, and also very special to me. She helped me a lot in the program and was a great Mentor. She is also a person that I could go to if I needed help with anything. The program and Ms. Lowe helped me a lot with my grades. I am glad I got to be in the program. I learned a lot from it and even though I graduated high school, I am in still in communication with Ms. Lowe to this day- she provides me with guidance, mentorship, and more.
